In the Name of Sustainability

In the heart of Hebburn, the revolutionary Paul Younger Energy Centre stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. With this project, South Tyneside Council aims to reduce emissions and achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2030. The completion of the project marks a significant milestone on the path to a greener and more environmentally conscious future. The centre generates electricity and heat, using natural gas as its primary source. The exterior is clad with concrete skin panels, specially manufactured for the project with a unique texture. A pattern of matte and sandblasted surfaces gives the facade an extraordinary look and feel, as well as a unique appearance. Photos: Ditz Fejer
