The comparatively low weight of the only 13 mm thick glassfibre reinforced concrete elements, a high degree of prefabrication and fast assembly are key arguments for why products made of fibreC are also popular for projects in the mountains. In search of a suitable material for the facade, which has to cope with harsh weather conditions and meet the demands for eco-friendly and resource-saving products while aesthetically blending into the surroundings, led the project team of the „Osthanglift“ lift station in Zell am See to Rieder.
The narrow öko skin slats score points in terms of aesthetics, material quality and robustness. They require no maintenance even years after installation. The elements are proven to be extremely durable, they do not have to be stripped or painted for at least 50 years and they are also non-combustible – perfect for use at high altitudes in extreme weather conditions.
