Education mandate
The centrally located Gardner Elementary School is large enough for all primary school pupils in the area. Due to its unique location on a hill overlooking the surrounding forests, the school is also called the “school in the forest”. The architects therefore designed it with a connection to nature in mind. Their focus was on sustainable and natural materials. In keeping with this, the building was clad with öko skin slats. The 13 mm thick facade made of glassfibre reinforced concrete means that the building envelope meets the high standards of schools in terms of fire protection, durability and low maintenance.
